Armagh Ecclesiastical Provincial Area Meeting 2019

His Grace, Archbishop Eamon Martin will host an Ecclesiastical Provincial Area Meeting on the 15^th of October 2019, assisted by the National Office for Safeguarding Children.

The purpose of the event is for staff from the National Office to meet with Bishops, Provincials, Superiors, designated liaison people (DLP) and trainers from dioceses, religious congregations and orders across the Armagh ecclesiastical province area, to discuss common issues of interest to further develop best practice in relation to safeguarding children. Topics for discussion include:

• Current projects underway in the National Board
• Revision of guidance and requirements following Vos estis lux mundi (Child safeguarding only)
• Legal mechanisms for information sharing with the National Board
• Training and Support Strategy, training requirements and revision of the training manual
• International missionary practice
• Safeguarding Sundays

Please note that there is a nominal charge of £5.00 sterling to be paid in cash on the day.  This will be given to the Archdiocese of Armagh to contribute to the costs of facilitating the event.
