20 Reports Completed by the National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church and Published. Penultimate Tranche Shows Progress Continuing
With only one further tranche of reviews to be completed and published it is clear that Safeguarding practice within the Church has improved and this set of 20 reviews reinforces that.
O verview of Safeguarding Practice arising from twenty Child Safeguarding Reviews, including 3 male Orders and 17 female Congregations. The Reports being made public today are the second last tranche of reviews under the current methodologies.

With only one further tranche of reviews to be completed and published it is clear that Safeguarding practice within the Church has improved and this set of 20 reviews reinforces that.

In September 2014, the fieldwork began into reviews of safeguarding practice of 8 male religious congregations and 8 female religious congregations. The 8 male religious and 1 of the female religious were assessed against the Catholic Church’s 7 safeguarding standards.
43 Reports undertaken by the National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church are published, clear Progress Made as Audit Process Nears Conclusion
The 43 audit reports published today include 8 orders of male religious all of which received a full audit and 35 orders of female religious with small congregations, with limited or no ongoing contact with children which were reviewed under a tighter framework more appropriate to actual current status.
As part of the process of Safeguarding reviews, the National Board was invited to examine the child safeguarding practice of the 43 Religious Orders and Congregations, whose reports are being made public today. Read the Overview Report here.

T he National Board for the Safeguarding of Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland (NBSCCCI) published its annual report today. It details the work done by the Board and its National Office during the year ending 31st March 2015.

The 5th tranche of review reports were published today by four dioceses and five congregations. All Reports are published here including an overview report of all the those reviewed.

NBSCCCI review implementation of recommendations of the third tranche of Safeguarding Reviews reported on, on 23rd April 2013
The group of Dioceses and Religious Congregations reviewed during late 2012 into the spring of 2013 made public their NBSCCCI review reports on 23rd April 2013. As is common practice, the NBSCCCI has sought an update on the implementation of the recommendations from each Church Authority. Included in this tranche were the Dioceses of Clogher, Elphin, Ferns, Galway, Killala and Waterford and the Missionary Society, Society of African Missions.
