Introduction
A regular part of work of the National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland (NBSCCCI) is the provision of advice and support on a range of child safeguarding issues, including developments in national and international legislation, policy and procedures.
Supporting church bodies
Following the consultation and induction of the new child safeguarding standards in 2016, and the meeting of the subgroup examining future audit methodologies, it has become clear there is a need for greater support with implementing good safeguarding practice. This may involve, at the request of a Church Authority, meeting with relevant personnel, assessing their needs and assisting with a plan of action.
This approach was piloted successfully during 2015.
If you require support or would like further information please contact the Director of Training and Support.
