Spirituality and Safeguarding in the Context of Catholic Social Teaching

This training course will be facilitated by Rev Dr Barry O’Sullivan (bio available here).  The course is open to any member of Church safeguarding personnel who want to understand more fully the place of safeguarding as a ministry in the theology and social teaching of the Church.  The course will cover the following:

  1. Exploring the place of safeguarding in theology, social teaching and gospel.
  2. Discussing the challenges we face as a Church today in living out a theology of safeguarding.
  3. Discussing how to overcome the challenges we face to practice safeguarding as a ministry and follow the example set by Jesus.

This training course will include Mass in the middle of the day.  The liturgy will reflect the themes explored during the course.  Should any cleric wish to concelebrate with Fr Barry, please let us know by contacting This email address is being protected from spambots.
