The National Board is hosting a series of information meetings on the revision of the child safeguarding policy.  At the meeting the National Board will present the latest draft, update participants on the work so far and then ask questions and receive your comments which we will incorporate into the work as we progress.

This meeting is open to all Church safeguarding personnel in the Tuam Ecclesiastical Area.  

Please note this meeting will be facilitated on another 4 dates- should you be unable to attend the meeting relevant to your area, feel free to attend any of the others.

Reporting Allegations for those involved in Pastoral Care of Spiritual Direction

This training day is for those involved in providing pastoral care or spiritual direction.  

The short workshop will focus on understanding what to do when a child abuse allegation is received during spiritual direction or pastoral support.

Risk Assessment and Local Audit

This training day is for those whose Diocese or Order is involved in ministry with children.  This training event will cover the following areas:

  • Understanding the localised risk assessment process and template.
  • Exploring best practice in terms of carrying out the safeguarding audit (standards 1, 5 and 6) and the DLPs annual file audit (standards 2, 3 and 4).
  • Exploring together alternative methods for conducting the annual audit. 

Price for this training day is 70 euro per person. 

We apologise for the increase in the cost per person, we have kept our charge the same for in person training since 2015, but have had to increase prices due to increased costs.
